This page explains what E4Learning collects about you, why we collect it, who we share it with, and how to ask us to delete it. We collect as little as we can manage, and we never sell what we collect.
1. What we collect
Three groups of things, and that's it:
- Account information. Your display name, email address, sign-in method (password or Google), and the timestamp of each sign-in.
- Study activity. The tests you buy, the attempts you start, the answers you select, the time you spend per question, and your scorecards. This is the data that makes the product useful — analytics, history, "continue where you left off".
- Payment metadata. Order references, amounts, status (paid / refunded / failed), and the payment provider that handled it. We never see or store your card number — that lives with the payment provider.
We do not collect: your location beyond the country derived from your IP, anything from your camera or microphone, your contacts, or any browsing activity outside E4Learning.
2. Why
- To run the service — sign you in, show your library, save your attempts, deliver receipts.
- To improve the product — figure out which questions are confusing, which exams need new tests, where the runner is slow.
- To meet our legal obligations — tax records on completed payments, fraud detection on suspicious activity.
3. Who else sees it
A short list of trusted vendors, used only to do specific jobs:
- Payment processor (Razorpay) — handles checkout and refunds. They see your card details; we don't.
- Email provider (Amazon SES) — sends verification, receipts, and password-reset emails. They see your email address.
- Hosting (AWS Mumbai) — stores our database and serves the app. Your data stays in India.
- Analytics & session insights (Google Analytics by Google LLC, and Microsoft Clarity by Microsoft Corporation) — only if you accept analytics cookies. They tell us how the site is used — which pages you visit and where people get stuck — so we can improve it. Microsoft Clarity also records anonymised session interactions (clicks, scrolls, mouse movement) and builds heatmaps, with on-screen text and anything you type masked out. This usage data is processed in the United States, and we never connect it to your payments or your answers.
- AI tutor (OpenAI, L.L.C.) — powers the optional “AI Tutor Assist” helper in Practice Mode. Only when you ask it to explain a question, we send that question, its answer options, the correct answer, and which option(s) you chose so it can generate an explanation. We do not send your name, email, or account ID. OpenAI processes this in the United States and, under its API terms, does not use it to train its models.
We never sell your data and never share it with advertisers. Apart from the AI tutor above — which runs only when you choose to ask it — we never share the substance of your study activity, the questions you attempt or the answers you give, with anyone outside the company. If you accept analytics cookies, the tools above receive only coarse, anonymised outcome signals — for example whether an attempt passed and a broad score band such as 40–59% — never your specific answers or exact marks.
5. Your rights
You can, at any time:
- See and update your display name and verified email from Settings.
- Download a copy of your study activity and purchase history — email us and we'll send it within 30 days.
- Delete your account, which removes your identifying information and your study activity (we retain purchase records as Indian tax law requires).
6. Retention
Active accounts: as long as the account exists. Closed accounts: identifying information is removed within 30 days; anonymised purchase records are kept for 8 years to satisfy tax law. Sign-in logs are kept for 90 days for security investigations.
7. Children
E4Learning is not for children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has signed up, write to e4learning@trouvaillesys.com and we'll remove the account.
8. Changes
If we change something material — a new vendor, a new kind of data, a different retention period — we'll email signed-in learners at least 30 days before it takes effect, and the "Last updated" date at the top of this page will change.
